What We Got Right

The bones of our call held. Dortmund scored through M. Albert on 20 minutes, assisted by A. Meyer, and led 1-0 at half time. What It Tells Us Going Forward

This result does not change the read on either side for their respective seasons. Dortmund were always going to approach a July friendly the day before a Japan tour with one eye on the flight home. The class gap we identified is real; Dortmund created the better chances and led for most of the match.

Fortuna's result is a morale lift, not a form indicator. Two goals against a rotating Dortmund second-half lineup is different from doing it in competitive football under pressure.
